**Senior Data Architect / Delivery Leader**

This exciting role is a high impact position needed to support the delivery of large data programs within MunichRE’s Global Specialty Organization (GSI). This role will help the organization to implement what is needed to deliver our strategic data platforms. Work will include, but not limited to the end to end support for acquisition, organization, integration, transformation and secure storage of mission-critical data. This role will report into the team led by the Head of Business Solutions Data & Analytics for GSI.

In this position you will:
Work closely in partnership with large system integrators to support the delivery of the programs that align to our data strategy.

Work with one or more delivery teams on a given program to ensure requirements are obtained, work has been properly identified, and lead/support engineers in delivering the data products required as part of the programs.

Partner with other data solution architects from the team to ensure that solutions are aligned to the business needs and follow enterprise standards and guidelines. Support any permit processes required and assist with the creation of reusable patterns to be leveraged across GSI.

Partners with data management and governance leads to ensure that projects are delivered at or under budget and follow all compliance, regulatory, and data quality requirements.

Ensure partner organizations (e.g. DevSecOps) have the details required to support the timely builds for environments and automation.

Qualifications and responsibilities:
This position requires sound technical skills, the ability to collaborate across teams both on-off shore, an operational / delivery mindset, and self-management leadership skills.
- Technical: Strong hands on skills that can be leveraged directly in the deliverable and/or ensuring that their team is effectively working.
- Commercial: passionate about solving problems, enjoy connecting the dots between data, strategy and analytics, obsess with generating tangible benefits and high performance.
- Leadership: Strong influencing skills and experience with a track record of empowering people to execute efficiently towards a common and understood goal.
- Organization: successfully juggle multiple, competing priorities and coordinate multiple tasks to ensure that work output from others is delivered on-time and accurately while operating in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment.
- Communication: Advanced verbal and written communications skills, as well as active listening, along with teamwork and presentation are essential.
- Must communicate clearly, effectively, and concisely, both verbally and in written form.
- 10+ years of experience and in-depth knowledge of data delivery and associated architecture principles, data modelling concepts, ETL procedures, and all steps of data production process
- Prior experience in insurance and/or reinsurance in support of specialty lines is a plus.
- Extensive hands on experience in SQL, Python, Data Integration/Ingestion and associated patterns - ETL tooling - Informatica IICS, ADF, Notebooks, Databricks, Delta Lake, Warehousing technologies and associated patterns, Cloud platforms - Azure preferred.
- Experience with on-prem and cloud versions of databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
- Professional certifications in public cloud and tooling - Informatica and Azure are highly desired.
- Analyzes data requirements and provides data analysis techniques, and applies data modeling (including data vault) and data quality techniques to establish, modify or maintain data structures and their associated components in complex environments
- Experience with Agile delivery frameworks/methodologies (e.g. Scrum, SAFe) and tools (i.e. Jira, AzureDevOps).
- Demonstrate a proven track record of having implemented solutions using one or more agile methodologies.
- Experience with mass ingestion capabilities and cloud process flows, data quality and master data management
- Understanding data related security challenges and tooling with specific technologies (e.g. Databricks)
- Experience in migrating data and associated systems from on-prem to Cloud environments
- Consulting and collaborative working style creating a culture of accountability and sharing.
- Knowledge of advanced analytics (models, tools, etc.) and their operational support is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication coupled with negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
