Open Arms is the leading provider of mental health services for veteran's and their families - they are a service founded by Vietnam War veterans which now provide essential services to all veterans and their families.
As an Australia wide team they provide face to face counselling, telephone based support and case management to individuals and their families through a combination of proven clinical practices and new evidence based approaches.
**Your new role**
In your role as an Outreach Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following:
- Collaboratively managing and coordinating the regions Outreach Program through liaison and negotiation with Open Arms management and staff through contribution to the continuous quality improvement of the Open Arms Outreach Program at both region and national levels, and facilitation of the delivery of high quality clinical outreach services for eligible Open Arms clients in rural and outer metropolitan areas in conjunction with other Open Arms staff by
- Ensuring referrals are appropriate, timely, and accompanied by relevant written client and administrative documentation.
- Providing information, debriefing and support, but not clinical supervision, to contracted service providers as appropriate.
- Ensuring Open Arms staff with outreach area coordination and/or administrative responsibilities are informed of national and region procedure updates and further development, maintenance and management of a database of Open Arms contracted counsellors.
**What you'll need to succeed**
The mandatory skills and experience for this position are as follows:
- Qualifications must be that of a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, or Nurse with mental health experience.
- Qualified Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Nurses must have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA).
- Mental health accredited Social Workers must be registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Working with Children (WWC) and/or Vulnerable People Checks/Clearance held and maintained while employed.
