Principal Corporate Governance Officer

As part of this role, you will also collaborate with, and provide expert advice to internal and external stakeholders on various matters pertaining to corporate governance and meeting planning and delivery.
**The core capability requirements for this role are**:
- Manage the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation strategies designed to advance corporate governance within the department.
- Drive continuous improvements to the QPS Strategic Governance Framework to ensure accountability is maintained, including identifying ongoing improvements aligned to contemporary governance practices and legislative requirements.
- Develop, review and implement innovative initiatives and strategies for the improvement of corporate governance work practices, processes and business outcomes.
- Build a network of governance professionals across the QPS portfolios and department to influence and improve the organisational governance and compliance culture.
- Produce and review high-level reports, briefing notes, submissions and other correspondence to support the delivery of governance services.
- Deliver high quality, timely and independent advice to executive management regarding all corporate governance matters.
- Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the execution of the governance framework.
- Represent QPS at internal and external forums and meetings pertaining to corporate governance functions and services.
**Role Requirements**:Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience**:
- Knowledge and/or understanding of governance principles and frameworks is highly desirable.
