**About the role**

Our client, a government agency, seeks an experienced Internal/Corporate Communications Adviser for a full-time, 3 month contract with an immediate start based in Melbourne CBD.
As the Internal Communications Adviser, you will be responsible for supporting effective and efficient internal communications across the agency's Project. You will provide key support within the Internal Communications function, managing regular newsletters, developing engaging content and bringing an innovative approach, as well as developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders in the delivery of internal communications.
**Responsibilities and tasks**:
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting and implementing internal communications strategy, to build a strong organisational culture and consistent internal messaging to communicate organisational initiatives and projects.
- Day-to-day timely management of the intranet, including research, writing and uploading news articles ensuring information is current.
- Timely management of the agency's monthly newsletter and weekly Bulletin including, research, writing and distribution.
- Support all internal communications activities, including events and regular All Staff Forum corporate event as well as preparing content.
- Support the delivery of high-quality communication materials across digital and print channels including video production and creative services briefs.
- Provide communication advice and communication plans to internal stakeholders on new, creative internal communication activities, briefings and other events, as required.
**Experience and Skills**:
The experience and skills you will need to demonstrate include:
- Experience working in a communications function within a diverse organisation or department
- Demonstrable experience in supporting internal communications strategies and plans across multiple channels for delivery to diverse audiences
- Experience in writing, producing and sharing a range of content and channels
- Ability to work in a complex, politically sensitive and demanding government/industry environment, with a high degree of responsibility and resilience to meet urgent deadlines
- Proactively identifying issues, opportunities and taking the initiative to advise potential areas of resolution and/or development
- Excellent communication, copywriting and interpersonal skills with an ability to deliver high-quality effective internal communications
**Qualifications**:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Communications or Journalism
- Experience in internal communications or editorial preferred
- Knowledge or experience with Campaign Monitor and SharePoint software highly regarded
- Previous experience working in the government sector is highly desirable
