Position purpose
The Communications Adviser plays a key role in developing, delivering and optimising communications and media initiatives that help RIAA achieve its mission and strategic objectives.
This role focuses on producing compelling content, executing communications campaigns and supporting media engagement to strengthen RIAA's brand, elevate our thought leadership and grow engagement across our community. Working across digital, social and traditional channels, the Communications Adviser ensures RIAA's messaging is consistent, impactful and aligned with our values and strategy.

Our membership includes super funds, fund managers, banks, consultants, researchers, brokers, impact investors, property managers, trusts, foundations, faith-based groups, financial advisers and individuals.

Responsibilities:
The Communications Adviser will contribute to the development and implementation of RIAA's marketing and communications strategy to support our mission and amplify our impact.
- Create high-quality content that translates complex concepts into clear and compelling messaging, including thought leadership pieces, case studies and member communications.
- Develop messaging and materials to support RIAA's membership, Certification Program, working groups, research, and policy and advocacy initiatives, including collateral and campaign activations that drive engagement and growth.
- Plan and deliver communications campaigns that enhance the member journey and onboarding experience, elevate RIAA's value proposition and support member engagement, growth and retention.
- Support media engagement activities, including drafting and editing media releases and opinion pieces, coordinating with PR agencies, maintaining media lists and assisting with proactive and reactive media outreach.
- Coordinate and review key publications such as research reports and flagship documents, working with editors and designers to ensure high-quality delivery, and support the planning and execution of launch campaigns to maximise reach and impact.
- Provide general support across marketing, media and event initiatives as required.
About you
You'll work closely with the Marketing team and the wider organisation to deliver communications that reflect RIAA's mission, strengthen our brand and engage our audiences. Key selection criteria for this role are:
Essential:
A positive approach to work and a demonstrated desire to create meaningful impact through your work.
At least three years' experience in a communications and/or marketing role.
Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to translate technical or complex information into clear and engaging content for various stakeholders.
Ability to use analytics and insights to inform and optimise campaigns.
Strong project management skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Creative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and initiative ownership
Desirable:
Experience in media engagement or pitching to journalists.
Basic literacy around finance and responsible investing
