**About the team**

**We are looking for an excellent communications professional to join the Strategic Communications team within the Department of Customer Service. This high-performing team provides communications strategy, design and execution to business units across the Department of Customer Service. The Strategic Communications team also actively works collaboratively and cohesively with a variety of content teams (brand, social media, stakeholder engagement, video and more) to achieve mutually beneficial communications goals for the agencies we service. This role supports agencies including SafeWork NSW, Fair Trading & Regulatory Services, Building Commission NSW, Service NSW and more in achieving communications objectives.

**Your day-to-day**
- Provide strong, well-thought-out stakeholder advice to the business units and communications streams.
- Ability to take direction and interpret strategic communications initiatives to execute the plan.
- Provide strong and sensible stakeholder management.
- Management of competing deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to work independently and with a team to achieve common goals and objectives.
- A sense of urgency and ability to deliver under pressure.

**To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate**:

- Previous Strategic Communications / Communications advisory experience.
- Previous experience in media relations and/ or as a journalist will be highly regarded.
- Strong stakeholder management skills are a must.
- The ability to develop and deliver communications strategies with creativity.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines independently is expected.
- Strong power-point and presentation skills.

**What we need from you**

Salary Grade 7/8, with the base salary for this role starting at $110266 base plus superannuation
