As National Sales Manager you will be responsible for planning and executing sales strategy of the business line for system projects and leading a composite sales team across Solutions and After Sales Service wherein this plan will have sustainability, strategic growth, and customer satisfaction as key elements and also accountable for leading, developing and coaching the sales organization into a high-performing and goal-oriented team in Process Automation Business Area. This position is based in Fortitude Valley, Australia.
**Your responsibilities**:
- Developing and implementing sales strategy, and strategic sales and business development initiatives, in alignment with global business strategy. Achieve sales targets in respect of both budgets and sales efficiency
- Establishing sales targets and ensure sales achievement through regular oversight, definition and implementation of improvement plans as needed. Agree final sales budget with General Management and apportion across sales team
- Identifying opportunities at existing and potential new customers within defined geographical area and determine plans for acquisition and allocate resources
- Coordinating the flow of information for sales activities and transactions. Building collaboration with other ABB Businesses and Product Group's to expand the business, share business information with other ABB Units to optimize ABB share of wallet
- Supporting the development of strong relationships with key customers. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision makers. Ensuring efficient marketing communications
- Monitoring client financial status and reporting any changes regarding risk to relevant internal partner teams. Identify and manage potential risks relating to contract agreements across customers/channels
- Taking ownership of the sales processes, and all relevant training and development plans, actions, and programs
- Ensuring (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Coach, motivate and develop direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies. Drive and ensure know-how sharing and cross-collaboration.
**Your background**:
- Engineering degree (or recognized equivalent), Business management qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales role in the automation / electrification disciplines
- Strong preference for relevant background in Mining & Mineral Industries
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in management position of a multi-discipline work team is essential.
- Up to 5 years’ experience in local and global business environment with direct people management responsibilities
- Advanced knowledge in ABB´s portfolio of products and system solutions
- Deep knowledge of greenfield and large brownfield projects
- Advanced computer skills including SAP knowledge or experience, Microsoft Office & MS Project, outlook, etc
- Strong leadership capabilities and ability to develop team members
- Experience in coordinating multiple teams in remote locations
- Strong sales drive and ability to negotiate at all levels of customer organizations
- A thorough understanding of financial statements.
- Cost calculation, finance knowledge and commercial aspects of business
- Commitment to process-thinking, development oriented
- Fluent English, good communication skills and Social, networking and stress-tolerant, team builder, problem solver
