Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead the critical function for our Australian Underground Mining business. Working with a market leading OEM, you will take control of all procurement and purchasing activities for the business, ensuring cost control, quality of supply and on time delivery to our customers
Key Job Responsibilities
Engaging and influencing senior stakeholders’ decision making across supply, commercial and operations to ensure optimum business outcomes
Researching and predicting upstream market trends and managing opportunities and threats to supply
Providing the business with reliable and relevant information to enable effective strategic decision making
Active relationship management with suppliers for main components and services
Analysing procurement spend of the business to identify areas of high potential savings and negotiating commercial terms to deliver sustainable best value solutions from suppliers
Leading cross-discipline integration, alignment, and delivery for the purpose of delivering parts & components and machines safely at a predictable time and cost, meeting DIFOT commitments
Qualifications/Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in business/commerce or equivalent, coupled with qualifications in procurement management
At least 10 years’ experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a management or leadership role
Highly refined negotiation and communication skills with strong business and financial acumen
Experienced in commercial, legal and contract / agreement writing
Experience working in mining or heavy industrial sectors and in large global organisations would be highly regarded
A technical/engineering acumen would be preferable
