**About the ROLE**
As a Head of People & Culture at UNITA you will play a crucial role in shaping the company's culture, developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, and driving employee engagement and satisfaction nationally.
This role is based in our Queensland office, in the heart of Fortitude Valley, close to public transport
**What YOU will be doing**
- Contribute as a member of the executive management team
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the company's objectives and goals.
- Develop and manage HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits, Remuneration entitlements, cultural initiatives and health & wellbeing intitiatives.
- Develop and implement employee training and development programs to improve the skills and knowledge of the workforce.
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws and applicable industrial instruments.
- Develop and manage training and development program to support strategic business competencies
- Manage employee relations, including investigating and resolving employee complaints and grievances.
- Oversee the performance management process, including the development and implementation of performance standards, coaching, and disciplinary action when necessary.
- Manage the HR budget and provide regular reports on HR metrics to the executive team.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in HR and share this knowledge with the HR team and the executive team.
- National travel to state offices required on occasion (quarterly)
**What YOU will bring to the role**
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 10+ years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a management or Snr HRBP role.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and some experience with industrial relations including EA negation and facilitation
- Experience in the construction industry preferred but not essential
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficient in HRIS and other HR software and tools.
