About the role What you need to know: Reporting and Portfolio Performance Analytics - Assist in delivering the MIS and Reporting framework by the development, maintenance and improvement of data provisioning for key performance metrics across production and sales, conversions, underwriting effectiveness, rate monitoring, profile and segment mix, loss ratios and exposure/aggregate management. - Use appropriate and relevant statistical techniques to provide commercial recommendations to improve the performance of the SME and MGA portfolios. - Provide analytical support to the wider team to investigate, validate and improve internal business processes and improve broker and customer satisfaction. - Assist in the design of tools that enable improved business processes to achieve desired outcomes, and the accompanying monitoring thereof. - Assist in the annual profitability reviews of all portfolios Financial Reporting & Budgeting - Assist with the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements - Assist in the development of the annual budget, and associated forecasting and variance analysis Miscellaneous portfolio management duties - Assist with other miscellaneous portfolio management tasks including - Reinsurance modelling - ESL modelling - Reporting required following catastrophe events What we’re looking for: Professional / Technical skills and experience - Excellent skills in data manipulation and extraction tools/languages - SQL, R, Python, SAS, etc. - Good knowledge of reporting/visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, etc. - Relevant tertiary degree in statistics, mathematics, actuarial, finance or equivalent - General Insurance experience, specifically in property and liability lines - Working knowledge of rating structures in a SME or Personal Lines environment - Deep understanding of insurance profit drivers, and ability to interpret Financial statements (P&L) - ANZIIF insurance qualification or equivalent will be an advantage Personal competencies - Excellent problem-solving skills - Flexible approach that allows for results at varying levels of precision to varying audiences - Strong communication skills - including written and verbal/presentation skills - Strong time management and prioritisation skills - Willingness and desire to learn LI-JC1 A look at our Benefits We're proud to offer a range of employee benefits and resources that help you protect what matters most - your health care, savings, financial protection and wellbeing.
