**About the Role**
As a Communications and Engagement Lead, you will work to give community and stakeholders a voice in project planning and delivery, ensuring Department decisions reflect community needs, and developing communications materials that inform communities and stakeholders about the benefits of projects which impact them.
**Position outcomes**
- Comprehensive understanding of projects and programs - partnering with project teams to gain a deep understanding of each project/program within remit, including location, stakeholders, issues and risks to provide context for communications and engagement planning.
- Development of communications and engagement plans - producing comprehensive plans that effectively analyse stakeholders, define messaging and channels, reflect potential issues and propose mitigations.
- Delivery of communications and engagement plans - at a high standard, within outlined timeframes.
- Genuine engagement - ensuring that engagement with the community is timely, appropriate and transparent.
- Collaboration - working with COE, Transport Services, across DTP and the broader portfolio (including alliance partners, transport operators and other transport agencies).
- Evaluation - consulting with members of relevant communities ensuring effectiveness and outlining lessons learnt for future projects.
- Promote and support safe, inclusive, and flexible team operations.
On a personal level you will have strong problem solving skills and understand how to manage pressures while being adaptive to the organisational climate and culture.

**Qualifications and Experience**
**Desirable**
- Prior experience in community and stakeholder engagement
- Strong writing and verbal skills
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- IAP2 accreditation
**Role Specific Requirements**
- Driver’s license
