**Why Your Role Matters**:
The Project Officer will play a key role in supporting the operational and research activities of the LGBTQ+ Population Health Research Group. Working as part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, the Project Officer will contribute to a range of ongoing research projects focused on LGBTQ+ health and wellbeing.

Core responsibilities include data collection, management, and analysis, as well as coordinating project activities, assisting with communication materials, managing relationships with stakeholders, and providing day-to-day administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the group’s initiatives.

This position requires a high level of organisation, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills, as the Project Officer will work closely with senior research staff to help deliver project outcomes on time and in line with research objectives.

The Project Officer reports directly to the Senior Research Fellow/Group Leader of the LGBTQ+ Population Health Research Group and does not have supervisory responsibilities.

**Skills and Experience**:

- An undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g., public health, biomedical sciences, psychology, sociology, social policy) or equivalent knowledge gained through relevant training and experience.
- Knowledge, familiarity, or experience in one or more of the following areas: LGBTQ+ health, LGBTQ+ health research and findings, health programs, research involving marginalised populations, or engagement with LGBTQ+ communities.
- Demonstrated project management experience, particularly in LGBTQ+ related research, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to take initiative and resolve complex matters.
- Excellent organisational skills, with demonstrated capacity to work independently, manage competing demands, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing reports, proofreading, and editing manuscripts and other documentation for varied audiences.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
