About the Role:
As an Originator - Gas, you will work as part of a team to support our Wholesale Gas portfolio. You will be responsible for originating and negotiating short and long term commercial agreements for gas supply, transportation, storage, sales, swap and related services, as well as managing existing structured contracts in our Wholesale Gas portfolio to optimise the financial performance and value over the short, medium and long term.
What you’ll be doing:
- Secure gas supply, transport and storage with gas producers, transporters, storage operators and portfolio suppliers
- Sell gas to wholesale customers
- Develop and review channels to market options for AGL’s retail business in collaboration with the broader AGL team
- Negotiate arrangement to optimise short to medium term financial performance
- Collaborate with the Trading Managers to set value creation strategies
- Manage the agreements throughout the contract lifecycle, including implementation, milestone tracking, monitoring deadlines and ensuring compliance with the contractual terms
About You:
You will be a dynamic individual with advanced communication and negotiation skills. You will be comfortable liaising with a broad range of suppliers, stakeholders and customers. Your experience in commercial negotiation, contract management and knowledge of contract law will set you up for success.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Engineering, Law or similar
- At least 2 years’ experience in the energy markets industry
- Experience negotiating and managing contracts for natural gas transportation, sale and purchase agreements will be highly regarded
- Advanced ability to build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships
- The ability to understand analytical concepts
- Excellent presentation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Advanced organisational skills and attention to detail
