**What’s the role?**

News Corp Australia is seeking an exceptional journalist to join our team as a National Political Correspondent. Based in Canberra, this role offers a front-row seat to the nation’s political stage, where you will report on the key players, policies, and debates that define our country.
As the National Political Correspondent, you will lead the national political agenda, collaborating with state-based colleagues to deliver compelling and impactful coverage for our national audience. You will gain unparalleled access to the corridors of power, witnessing law-making in action and uncovering the art of political compromise.
This is a rare opportunity to work alongside some of the most influential figures in Australian politics while contributing to the trusted journalism of News Corp Australia’s major metropolitan mastheads in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide, as well as our regional community titles.
**What’s the role?**
+ Break exclusive political stories and provide insightful analysis for a national audience.
+ Collaborate with state-based colleagues to ensure cohesive and comprehensive political coverage.
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with key political figures, policymakers, and stakeholders.
+ Deliver high-quality content under tight deadlines, demonstrating initiative and resilience.
+ Report directly to the National Editor for Network News.
**Who are you?**
+ A deep curiosity and passion for uncovering stories that matter.
+ Proven experience in political reporting or a related field.
+ Strong multiplatform skills including video broadcast and editing.
+ Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with a focus on accuracy and clarity.
+ Initiative, maturity, and enthusiasm for tackling difficult and robust assignments.
+ A strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
