Company Description

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory is the parliament for the nation's capital, established after self-government in 1989. It handles both territory and local-level functions, making decisions that impact all residents and workers of the ACT. The Assembly comprises 25 members elected every four years, supported by political staff and public servants. The Office of the Legislative Assembly, a non-political and independent body, provides procedural and administrative support to the Assembly and its committees.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Political Advisor located in Canberra. The Political Advisor will provide strategic advice, develop policy initiatives, and manage political campaigns. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing political trends, drafting reports and speeches, coordinating with political staff, and advising on legislative processes.

Qualifications

  • Analytical Skills and Political Science knowledge
  • Experience in Political Campaigns and Politics
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Relevant experience in policy development and legislative affairs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Relations, or related field is preferred
