**The Role of the Assistant Manager |**
Our Dairy, Freezer, Bakery Assistant Manager will have shared responsibility for building product displays, keeping shelves organised, displaying accurate pricing labels, ordering supplies, replenishing stocks, providing customer service, organising rosters and assigning tasks. Solid experience with perishables is advantageous to the role.
- The Assistant Manager will support the manager in the day-to-day operations of the perishables department and lead a team of up to 5 staff.
- You will successfully implement strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales and increase profitability
- Ensure that customer complaints are resolved quickly and efficiently
- Work towards improved store appearance and product presentation to meet LaManna standards
- Be able to effectively manage a roster, timesheets and leave requests to ensure the department operates effectively and efficiently in the absence of the manager
- Support the Manager and the team with daily tasks and expectations, performance, training & development and appraisals
- You will be required to engage with our customers, getting to know them and build a strong rapport with them
- Work effectively with other Departments to ensure our customers have access to the best of the best and keep coming back for more
- Proven experience in managing teams is advantageous
- Sound mathematical knowledge is essential
- Excellent merchandising skills with a keen eye for detail
- Understanding of computer-based systems
- Have great problem-solving skills and be able to think outside the box
- Keep a clean and organised workspace whilst adhering to our OHS and Food Safety guidelines

**Academic or Trade Qualification | Certifications**
Fork Lift Licence | Preferred

Level 2 First Aid certificate | Preferred

**Physical Requirements |**
The role is operational and requires long periods of standing. Heavy lifting is involved, therefore a level of fitness and stamina is required. The role also involves working extended periods in cold areas.
