**Job Summary (Purpose)**:
Within the independent trade, Multi-Site Operators (MSO’s) and high volume, more sophisticated Single Site Operators (SSO’s) require regular value-add engagement, as they consistently out-perform the remainder of the Independent trade and generally have a better ability to execute agreed plans to a high standard.

The Key Account Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of CP’s engagement with a number of key Independent retailers, as detailed below, with oversight from the Customer Development Manager, Independent Retail.

In addition to this core responsibility, this role works closely with the Field Sales Team (Field Sales Managers & Territory Managers) to engage smaller tier 2 & 3 Multi-Site Operators (MSO’s) and subsequently drive CP’s relationship, sales and share within these customers.

This role will work closely with the Customer Development Team Leader, Customer Development Managers, Category & Shopper Development Manager, Communication Executive, Field Sales Managers and Territory Managers, as well as inter-team and cross-functionally, to deliver the best possible outcomes for both CP and all applicable customers

**Main Responsbilities**:
**Overview**
- Lead CP’s engagement with key Independent retailers, including: Foodland, Ritchies, FoodWorks, SPAR, Cornetts & TIR (Tasmanian Independent Retailers) as well as a number of other tier 2 and tier 3 MSO’s.
- Engage to develop compelling growth plans for CP brands and enhance the presence of CP within these retailers.

**Account Management**
- Engage with contacts across all customers on a wide variety of matters including new products, category reviews, range analysis, promotions management and post analysis
- Where relevant, leverage the Metcash national promotional program to customise and layer in incremental promotional and event activity to accelerate CP’s growth in Independent Retail
- Monthly reconciliation of claims for all applicable customers

**Business Development**
- Coach, develop, advise & partner with the Field Sales Team to drive CP performance in key SSO’s and MSO’s managed by FST
- Meet with all applicable customers on a regular basis
- Negotiate Joint Business Plans (JBPs), promotions/deals/investment, new productranging and launches and activation within the managed groups
- Track and post-analyse promotions and NPD launches and implement learnings in future activity, where relevant

**Business & Financial Analysis**
- Ensure that plans implemented with customers contribute towards the delivery of CP financial KPIs/metrics/budgets
- Implement plans that optimise CP’s investment to deliver increased net sales, ASP and RASP and reduced Gross to Net (GtN)

**Required (Education, Knowledge required, Language skills, etc)**
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Experience in category/customer/account roles or adjacent experiences required
- Exceptional communication skills, both written & verbal
- Strong planning and prioritisation skills
- Proven ability to be self managed and motivated and work effectively remotely

**Preferred Requirements**:

- Experience working with a syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI, Quantium) preferred
- Prior experience working with Metcash/Independent retailers
- Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel & PowerPoint) or Google Suite proficiency (i.e, Sheets, Slides, Docs) preferred
