
Disability Support Worker

**Job description**
We are seeking a dedicated female support worker who values a holistic approach to care, is reliable, active, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. This role is specific to one participant who needs assistance around the care for her infant child.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide personalized support to individuals with disabilities in a holistic manner, addressing their physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Assist clients with daily activities, including personal care, supporting mother to care for their baby, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Accompanying the client to appointments when necessary
- Engage clients in meaningful activities such as cooking, crafts, and outdoor excursions to promote well-being and independence.
- Organizing community engagement activities, including parenting classes, cooking classes, gym visits, and trips to the library
- Foster a supportive and empowering environment that encourages personal growth and development.
- Assisting in implementing allied health recommendations
- Helping build the client's confidence and self-esteem
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and support plans.
**Requirements**:
- Passion for a holistic approach to care and support.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Strong affinity for family
- Currently studying or possessing relevant qualifications in a related field.
- Australian Business Number (ABN) for independent contracting and relevant insurance's, eg: indemnity and public liability insurance, comprehensive car insurance.
- National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) screening clearance.
- Working with children check
- Knowledge of working in the disability sector or personal lived experience with disability.
- Excellent command of the English language and clear communication skills
- Current First Aid and CPR
