Protective and Safety Services are currently seeking an experienced Fire & Rescue Officer - Casual/Relief with strong sales emergency experience and a passion for safety.

This position would suit someone located in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria.

**Your new role**:

- Deliver professional **fire and rescue response** services to ensure the safety of all site personnel during outage and maintenance operations.
- **Maintain operational readiness** of all firefighting, rescue, and emergency equipment through regular inspections, testing, and documentation.
- **Respond to incidents** including fires, hazardous materials, medical emergencies, and technical rescues in line with Snowy Hydro and PASS procedures.
- **Conduct risk assessments** and contribute to the development and implementation of emergency response plans for high-risk work areas.
- **Work collaboratively** with Snowy Hydro site management, contractors, and other emergency service personnel to support safe work practices and rapid incident coordination.
- **Provide site safety briefings, emergency drills, and practical rescue training** to workers and subcontractors to enhance overall site preparedness.
- **Maintain accurate logs and reports** on daily activities, drills, and incident responses in accordance with site and PASS reporting requirements.
- **Actively contribute** to continuous improvement by identifying safety enhancements, participating in toolbox meetings, and supporting team capability development.

**You will ideally have**:

- **Proven experience** in emergency response, firefighting, or rescue operations within high-risk industrial or energy environments.
- **Demonstrated capability to perform under pressure**, maintaining composure and effectiveness during high-stress incidents.
- **Self-motivated and disciplined**, with a strong focus on operational excellence, readiness, and continuous improvement.
- **Professional work ethic and teamwork mindset**, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary site teams and contractors.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
