Shearwater, the Mullumbimby Steiner School is excited to be offering the position of High School Coordinator to a suitable person who shares the school’s values of connection, curiosity and becoming, with a contemporary, inspired approach to working with colleagues and adolescents, in alignment with Rudolf Steiner’s art of education based on spiritual freedom.

Students in the Shearwater high school enjoy a diverse curriculum with a focus on the creative arts, exemplified in our Wearable Arts, Vision in Education (WAVE) initiative, where staff, students and community members create an annual performance event that includes choreography, dance, art and design film, music and audio/visual production.

In conjunction with the NESA curriculum, unique components of the Shearwater high school program include outdoor education; metal and woodwork; a comprehensive water skills and marine program; regenerative agriculture and biodynamic farming; design and technology and philosophy and social sciences, with exciting opportunities for cross-curricular and project-based learning,
We are looking for an inspired educator, seeking to continue with classroom teaching as part of their role. Someone with a creative vision for the future of education, who is energised by new learning possibilities and. has the creativity and enthusiasm to respond to the unique calls of our adolescents, based on Rudolf Steiner’s indications for the healthy development of the whole human being.
