Operations Manager, Veteran Services

Opportunity:
As our new Veteran Services Operations Manager, you will play a key role within the Veteran Services management team. You will join a team that is dedicated to meeting the unique needs of Australian veterans and their families and focus on providing support and wellbeing programs that are veteran-centric and recovery focused.
You will:
- Keep veterans and their families as the focal point of all activities.- Actively seek to exceed expectations through excellent service, consultation, and continuous improvement with an empathetic and flexible approach to all actions.- Take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgement and a realistic understanding of issues even when dealing with complex and sensitive issues.- Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to the general manager.- Optimise Grant opportunities and oversee Fundraising and Event execution.- Support Government engagement and advocacy to demonstrate best use of Government funding.
We need you to have:
- A sound understanding of the Defence, ESO and Veteran culture/landscape and ability to navigate through the related agencies and Departments.- Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration, management or health related field.- 3+ years proven experience in an operations management position.- Ability to establish and build meaningful relationships internally and externally and highly developed communication skills.- High level planning and organisation skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.- Skilled in conflict management and business negotiation processes
