Based in Sydney - Operating within the office at St Leonards and representing the organisation at various defence bases within Sydney, 5 days a week- Permanent Veterans’ Customer Service Advisor role - altruistic work that makes an impact- Eligible for ‘not for profit’ salary packaging - up to $15,900 a year
Opportunity:
As our new Customer Service Advisor (Veterans Services) in Sydney, you will play a key role within the Claims and Advocacy team, working directly with Veterans, helping with their DVA claims and actively advocating for all aspects of veterans’ benefits.
Your work and delivery of a high quality, professional service will have a significant impact on the lives of veterans and their families.
You will also:
- Liaise with key external stakeholders, related services and agencies associated with DVA.- Participate in work groups to achieve organisational objectives and outcomes for veterans and their families.- Participate in projects in conjunction with strategic/operational plans and embrace the change process to achieve desired outcomes.- Take responsibility for the delivery of work outcomes associated with the preparation, submission and follow up of claims for compensation and entitlements from DVA with efficiency, professionalism and integrity- Build working relationships with DVA and other ESOs.
We need you to have:
- A sound understanding of the Defence, ESO and Veteran culture/landscape and ability to navigate through the related agencies and Departments.- Completion of /or willingness to complete courses relevant to the role.- The willingness to develop an understanding defence-related illnesses and conditions.- Ability to establish and build meaningful relationships internally and externally.- Highly developed communication skills - oral and written.- High level planning and organisation skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.- Ability to work and deliver under pressure and manage difficult situations.
