**Who the Company is?**
The Community Language Schools SA inc. (CLSSA) is the peak state not-for-profit association representing and servicing accredited member ethnic school authorities in South Australia, providing policy advice and administrative support to governments, and generating community awareness of the community language schools sector.
The principal belief of the Association is that all individuals have the right to maintain, develop, express and share their cultural heritage and all are equally entitled to participate in and benefit from the activities of multicultural communities. ethnic schools.
CLSSA are looking for an outstanding leader who has operated at the executive level within the education or related sectors to join their organization as the Executive Officer. This position is located in West Croydon.
**What you will be doing and will be responsible for**:
Reporting to the Board, the Executive Officer (EO) will be responsible for the development of the organization, strengthening membership and having oversight of governance, contractual, business, funding, policy, and networking functions.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**The EO will be responsible for leading the below areas**:
- Strategic development and outcomes
- Leadership and management
- Financial, contractual and business performance
- Policy development and the management of government relations
- Profile and positioning
- Prior relevant demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Tertiary qualification in a management or business discipline (or other relevant tertiary qualification) is essential.
- Governance and business management qualifications viewed favorably.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience within the education sector.
- Experience in maintaining networks and developing partnerships.
- Experience in managing staff in a dynamic and ever evolving environment.
- Proven experience in working with Boards and a good understanding of not-for-profit governance process, procedures, and best practice.
- Experience in working across a range of organizations and sectors.
- Financial management skills.
- Ability to communicate with a diverse range of senior stakeholders, including government relationships.
- Negotiation, facilitation, and networking skills.
- Strong administrative management skills.
- Ability to work independently to tight deadlines and strong time management skills.
