About the Role
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the Electrical Operator Maintainer will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the AGL’s Somerton Power Station, situated in Melbourne’s North.
A trade qualified Electrician you will safeguard the technical, safety, environmental and commercial integrity of the asset life cycle, this role will have a key focus in ensuring we meet our required production specifications through plant availability.
What you’ll be doing:
- Ensuring all Organisational Health, Safety and Environment policies and standards are adhered to- Demonstrating the AGL Values by acting in the best interests of AGL and working together across the business to create the best overall results and decisions- Performing preventative, planned, fault rectification and break down maintenance of assets.- Preparing work records and reports as required, including input into SAP, reviewing and updating documents, drawings and procedures as required- Preparing, receiving, issuing, and cancelling authorities whilst ensuring compliance with Safe Access Rules, including isolation, restoration and operation of plant as required- Supervising all work parties including, employees service providers/contractors to ensure work is conducted to standard and in a safe manner- Supporting other trades in routine and breakdown tasks
About You
With a safety-first approach you will be experienced working across a range of task within a heavy industry environment. Your can-do attitude and collaborative approach will see successfully working within a small, dynamic team along with partnering with our mechanical team to quality work in timely manner.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- An A Grade Electrical Trade qualification- Previous experience working with gas turbine assets or in the power generation industry would be well regarded- Strong troubleshooting capabilities and a strong and positive attitude towards a safe workplace is critical- A collaborative and inclusive work style to work in a diverse team- Ability to fulfil availability/on call requirements based of on call rooster and work overtime as required by the business
