Our Client is a leading manufacturer of municipal vehicles, including refuse collection equipment, static compaction equipment, sweepers, sewer cleaning equipment, and vacuum machines. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Technician to join our Service Division. Our working environment is welcoming and friendly, and you'll be surrounded by some of the brightest minds in the refuse industry.

  • 38 hours working week
  • 8 hours Monday to Thursday with a 6 hour Friday

About the Role

Working as part of the Service Team, you will attend customer sites or work in our workshop to service and maintain our range of equipment. Your primary responsibility is to ensure all technical issues are identified and repaired to the customer's satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service and maintain our range of refuse machines, sweeper products, vacuum tankers, and static compaction equipment.
  • Attend equipment breakdowns to diagnose and repair faults and issues on customer equipment.
  • Provide timely support information and assistance to customers, ensuring they are kept updated on the progress and resolution of works.
  • Complete accurate and timely administrative records of work undertaken.
  • Removal and refit of heavy mechanical components.
  • Electrical systems, automotive- heavy stream.
  • Body builders and repairers of the body (not chassis engine, gearbox etc).
  • Heavy mechanics.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Required

  • Trade Qualification: Relevant Trade qualification (Heavy Vehicle, Plant, Mechanical Fitter, etc.).

  • Technical Expertise:

  • Knowledge and experience with electrical/hydraulic/pneumatics.

  • Ability to understand schematics for both hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Experience working on heavy vehicles.

  • Skills in fault diagnosis and field work.

  • Licensing: Current Drivers Licence, Truck Licence

  • Nice-to-Have Skills: Advanced welding skills (Mig, Tig, Stick).
