- **Be an integral part of Youth Justice Custodial Services.**:

- ** Lead the development, implementation and delivery of the Youth Justice Custodial services site induction.**:

- ** Lead the design and enhancement of the existing induction package, ensuring it remains effective, engaging, and aligned with current needs**
- The Department of Justice and Community Safety (Youth Justice) is responsible for the statutory supervision of young people in the criminal justice system in Victoria focusing on prevention, diversion, and early intervention as the most effective and fiscally responsible ways of reducing youth crime.
- Youth Justice Custodial Services aim to engage young people in change by addressing their offending behaviour and equipping them with the skills required for positive community participation, within a safe and secure environment. Youth Justice Custodial Services is focused on a genuine therapeutic environment driven by relationships and based on an integrated model of care and reformed approach to programs and services.

**The opportunity**
- Ongoing, Full time position based for a minimum 3 days at Cherry Creek and 3 days at Parkville per fortnight, facilitating the induction.
- VPS4 role, earning $97,955 - $111,142 per year plus super.
- Deliver the site induction, to a high standard, on a weekly basis across both precincts to all external services
- Manage the design and review of the current induction package and evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of the induction package.
- Communicate, consult, and build strong and effective working relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external to Youth Justice and the department, to support custodial operations, emergency management, youth justice standards and support work priorities.
- Independently manage and deliver the full site induction program to visitors, contractors and other relevant stakeholders.

**To be successful in this role, you will have**:

- Experience in developing, reviewing and delivering training and site induction programs with a focus on safety and emergency protocols.
- Managing internal and external stakeholder relationships in a collaborative environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of Emergency Management operations and Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
- Experience in, or knowledge of, custodial operations or Youth Justice is desirable
- A full driver's licence is required due to the need to be able to work flexibly across both custodial precincts and community offices, based on operational requirements.
- A current employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card is required and will need to be provided prior to commencement of employment by the applicant. Currency will need to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
