**Purpose of the role**:
The Business Development Representative drives revenue growth by identifying and qualifying potential customers, generating new business opportunities, and nurturing leads. You proactively engage prospects, build relationships, understand the customer's needs and support Account Executives and Commercial Energy Consultants to offer relevant contracts. You will contribute to increased sales across Zembl and create a positive first impression with prospects. As an BDR you will refine communication skills, manage your sales pipeline, and perfect the sales pitch. This role offers opportunities for personal and professional growth, learning prospecting techniques, products and services, industry knowledge and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs).

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Develop a deep understanding of our target market, ideal customer profiles, and prospecting techniques
- Effectively create lists of prospective clients, track interactions and prioritise leads
- Ensure customer records are up to date and maintained through our CRM
- Build strong relationships with prospects through active listening, empathy, and effective communication
- Grow customer portfolio and promote Zembl’s services through attending trade shows
- Research the customer's size of business, location of business, and decision maker before a call to ensure customers are within Zembl’s target market
- Understand the customer's current usage, spend, and contract terms to ensure the correct account management team and plans will be offered to the customer
- Report to sales management with any changes to customer contract requirements to ensure the customer remains on the most suitable contract
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Zembl’s products and services, and competitive landscape through comprehensive BDR training modules provided by the company
- Attend ongoing market and industry training sessions
- Understand customer needs, pain points, and motivations to develop trust and rapport
- Effectively move leads through the sales funnel while providing timely follow-up
- Deliver a compelling sales pitch that highlights the unique value proposition of our products or services, and provide persuasive responses that showcase the value and benefits of the offered solutions
- Provide regular reports on sales activities and achievements to sales management
- Adhere to all relevant regulations, policies, and ethical standards while engaging with prospects, and maintain a strong focus on compliance and achieve excellent scores in audits and assessments
- Proactively work towards and consistently achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as call volume, qualified leads generated, appointments set, and revenue targets
- Liaise with Commercial Energy Consultants and Account Executives after customers go-live date to ensure the correct contract has been issued and no problems have arisen
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience and ensure customer satisfaction through NPS metrics
- Prepare and submit expense claims for any expenses incurred at trade shows or external business-related costs

This role suits an individual who is motivated, results-driven individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment and have a passion for sales. You are self-motivated, organised, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and resilient. Key attributes in this role are that you are adaptable and willing to learn, with a proactive mindset and a strong work ethic. Ideally you will have:

- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in outbound sales development, lead generation, or a similar role.
- Strong ability to actively listen, identify customer needs, and present solutions effectively.
- Resilient and persistent with the ability to handle objections and rejection professionally.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Familiarity with CRM software and proficiency in using sales tools and technologies.
- A passion for sales, customer engagement, and a drive to exceed targets
