**About the team**

This role sits within the Finance Strategy & Operations Division (FSO), which plays a key role enabling the organisation to achieve its mission and strategy by providing IT, financial, risk management, operational performance and business insights, legal, project management and property and fleet management services.

**About the role**

The primary focus of this role is to lead a small team to develop, design and implement evaluations for key mission areas; to report on evaluation findings; and to make recommendations to inform future strategic planning.

Reporting to the Manager Strategy and Operational Performance, with the flexibility to work from home and the Woolloomooloo office (hybrid), this role will be responsible for the following.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead and contribute to the development, design and evaluation of strategically aligned projects to deliver insights which drive performance and the impact that CCNSW activities have
- Manage the portfolio of evaluation projects being conducted by the team, ensuring that the projects are delivered to a high standard and meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders
- Manage the day-to-day relationships with stakeholders from across the business, as well as being the key evaluation contact for external partners involved in CCNSW evaluation projects
- Lead on the development of an outcomes framework to support the next organisational strategy
- Support the ongoing monitoring of CCNSW activities to ensure real time insights are available across the organisation, to allow for optimisations and reporting to senior leadership
- Lead and cultivate a high performing evaluation team, ensuring achievement of performance objectives, on-going development and supervision, engagement, and retention of staff.
- Champion the work conducted by the evaluation team, ensuring that it is being captured, stored and disseminated in an impactful manner
- Procure and manage commissioned contracts for research and/or evaluation projects
- Be aware of and adhere to CCNSW policies and procedures, and ensure that all evaluation activities, data and reports are compliant, specifically in relation to data privacy and ethics
- Represent CCNSW on relevant committees, presentations and at conferences.
- Build the capacity of other team members to conduct rigorous evaluations.

**About You**

Essential:

- Tertiary qualifications in psychology, health, science or related field.
- Experience in leading the management, development and delivery of research projects including design, qualitative and quantitative methodology and evaluation
- Experience with the development, implementation and evaluation of complex health and/or health promotion programs.
- Knowledge and experience in conducting health research (both qualitative and quantitative methods), and an understanding of research design and methods.
- Demonstrated high level written communication skills, including ability to write literature reviews, research or project plans and reports, and prepare manuscripts for journal publication.
- Demonstrated stakeholder relationship management skills (internal and external).
- Demonstrated experience in managing a small team.

Desirable:

- Experience in impact/outcome measurement
- Experience working in psycho-oncology, cancer support, or health promotion fields.
- Publication track record
