**Who we’re looking for**:
The objective of the Digital Squads Delivery & Release Manager role is to enable the digital squads to deliver on projects that have significant cross over between teams & ensure all risks, impediments are managed effectively. Definition and management of the squad release management process will also be key.
Our Digital Delivery teams consists of 9 squads over our exciting & complex web and app portfolio. We have a vital & exciting role available that will be key to supporting of our digital projects to ensure they are delivered & released to plan. You are an accomplished facilitator & relationship builder who likes to work across teams & stakeholders, managing releases & changes plus helping manage risks, whilst escalating impediments. Driving improvements throughout the end-to-end process.
**What you’ll be doing**:
- Define and manage digital squads release management process in particular play the leading release management role for projects where execution is provided by the digital squads
- Lead and facilitate release dependencies across multiple internal/ external teams
- Develop consistent approaches for establishment & communication of annual calendars for Iterations & Releases
- Develop regular portfolio reporting that provides visibility to key stakeholders
- Work with stakeholders to manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
- Facilitate and champion the use of enterprise systems and tools to plan, deliver and track progress including Jira, Confluence etc
- Work with PMO, Head of Delivery, Group Agility Lead, Technical Practice Manager to design and implement an overall Release Management process and train existing staff
- Ensure the tasks associated with parallel internal and external deliverables are included in the release plan (build time, run time, merging, etc.)
- Serve as an escalation channel to negotiate with stakeholders and enforce the work demand management process
- Address any issues that may impact the squad’s ability to deliver
- Assist in change management activities with the business (when & where required)
- Work with project managers and reporting on delivery (updating of schedules etc) & assist with the deployment schedules/changes
- Work with Product Managers & Owners on independencies (such as legal needs to provide xyz before a feature can be implemented)
- Consult with E-comms Operations Team to ensure all delivery is transitioned currently to BAU operation
- Provide a key point of contact for the Technology for all Digital Squad delivery & releases
**You’ll be great in this role if you have**:
- Relevant Bachelors Degree
- ITIL training
- 5+ years experience in midsenior level role in development, delivery programmes, digital or technology
- 2+ years experience working in agile environments
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating concurrent releases at a large scale
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively & build trusted relationships with remote / distributed business & technology teams
- Team player with high levels of empathy, resourcefulness, and results-orientation
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and uncertainty through scenario planning and risk management approaches
- Highly developed stakeholder management skills with ability to interact at all levels of a complex organisation
- Relevant background in digital delivery or portfolio delivery
- SDLC & ITIL processes
- Agile mindset and appreciation of agility principles and practices.
**Desirable skills**:
- Recognised Agile Project Management qualification
- Airline and/or travel industry experience
- BI reports / Data mining skills
- Change management processes
