**Position Overview**: We are expanding our services and are seeking a skilled and hands-on Maintenance and Modification Assistant to join our team, specialising in improving mobility and access in the home. In this pivotal role, you will work with our team on general home maintenance and modifications for our clients.
This position requires a commitment of 2 days per week, with a mix of on-site client visits and project work at the centre.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Prioritise and multitask effectively, ensuring attention to detail in all tasks.
- Utilise experience in the building industry to provide practical assistance and interventions that enhance mobility and access within the home environment, including but not limited to: *Installation of grab rails, *Fitting smoke alarms, *Implementing security measures, *Building and installing ramps.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Deliver excellent customer service, relating to customers of all backgrounds while maintaining professional and cultural sensitivities.
- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to ensure positive interactions and outcomes.
- Ensure timely completion of client data records as required by the business.
- Adapt to changing schedules and prioritise tasks accordingly.
**Requirements**:
- Qualifications and/or previous experience in a similar role, with knowledge and skills applicable to home maintenance and modification.
- Ability to work under general direction, with mínimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and clients.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality services and achieving positive outcomes for clients and the community.
- It is essential to hold a valid Queensland driver licence
- Comfortable using smartphones/tablets or willing to learn.
- Willingness to acquire or possess a national police check.
- Provide two relevant references, including your current or most recent manager.
