The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is looking fill the role of **Cloud DataLab Solution Lead** in the Data Integration ICT team of the Major Projects Branch. This is a permanent role at the Executive Level 1 (EL 1) classification level.

The successful applicant can work from any of our offices located in Belconnen (ACT), Docklands (Melbourne), Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth or Hobart, although a hybrid arrangement of working from home and in the office applies.

**About the business area**

The purpose of the Data Integration ICT team is to provide ICT solutions for the ABS’ rapidly growing Data Integration work programme and DataLab.

The ABS Cloud DataLab now supports more than 350 data research\analysis projects with approximately 2000 registered users. The ABS has also invested in turning the ABS DataLab into an ‘as a service’ offering that allows other government departments to administer their own partition on the ABS infrastructure\solution.

**What you will do**

Responsibilities of the role include:

- managing an ICT team to maintain and further develop the ABS Cloud DataLab
- engage technology peers, business areas and expert partners (vendors) to understand emerging new requirements and support challenges to deliver fit for purpose solutions
- ensure proportionate attention to ICT Security, performance, testing, capacity planning, usage and license cost optimisation, and other non-functional requirements
- providing leadership in the delivery of program objectives and business outcomes, and as part of the leadership team, helping to evolve the future culture of the ABS.

**What we are looking for**

To be suitable you should have most or all the following skills, qualities, and experience:

- demonstrated track record in leading a team in designing and delivering cloud native solutions in Azure - including the ability to understand and optimise design decisions to functional and non-functional requirements
- staff management and technical coaching/mentoring skills
- ability to work with diverse stakeholders and nurture positive working relationships
- well-developed communication and negotiation skills
contemporary experience in CI/CD, Agile and DevOps methods and tools
- several years’ experience in ICT professional roles and a tertiary accredited qualification in a relevant ICT discipline or equivalent additional industry experience.
