12 month APS6 Workplace Health and Safety role to be part of a close knit HR team.

We are looking for an experienced Work Health and Safety professional to play a crucial part in developing and implementing a robust Work Health and Safety (WHS) strategy. The role is part of a small Human Resources team where you will contribute to building a positive safety culture by ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. This is a 12-month role where you will provide expert WHS advice and support to staff, drive risk management initiatives, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

**APS6 12 month position**

**Duties**:

- Develop and implement a sustainable health and safety management system
- Promote a strong safety culture through active management of WHS management systems
- Provide specialist advice, support, training, and education to staff.
- Review policies, procedures, and systems, and collaborate with relevant work groups
- Provide specialist advice on injury management, including prevention, early intervention, rehabilitation, and compensation matters.
- Collaborate with the HR team to provide support and advice for fostering continual improvement and building organizational capability.

**Key Criteria**:

- Demonstrated experience in collaborating with diverse teams and engaging stakeholders to build a positive health and safety culture, with a focus on complex and sensitive matters.
- Proven track record in developing frameworks to mitigate injuries, raise awareness of well-being, and promote hazard prevention.
- Experience in contributing to the design, delivery, and implementation of communication strategies, including policies, training, and awareness initiatives.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of legislation and regulatory standards, such as the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Safety Rehabilitation Act, with the ability to provide specialist advice.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSB42012/BSB41415) or Occupational Health and Safety (BSB41407/BSB41604), or relevant tertiary qualification and/or professional experience.
