**About the Business**

The Office for Women is reponsible for the Domestic and Family Violence Safety Alliance and works across government and community towards achieving gender equity and positive change for women in South Australia. The Office develops policy and provides advice on issues affecting women to improve their safety, wellbeing and economic security.

**Role Details**

The Policy Officer is a role within Community and Family Services and is accountable to the Manager for:

- Contributing to the development of across government innovative policy initiatives which support Office for Women and Department of Human Services (DHS) objectives based on knowledge of Government policy, specific programs and women’s issues.
- Coordinating of policy, projects and strategy to achieve Office for Women and departmental goals particularly in relation n to multi-agency family, domestic and sexual violence initiatives.
- Providing consultation and support services to a range of stakeholders and users of the Family Safety Framework.

Key outcomes and accountabilities:
1. Provide advice to management and key stakeholders across the Office for Women, DHS and State Government on legislation and public policy on women’s issues.
2. Prepare high quality written documents including Ministerial briefings, submission and reports to a range of stakeholders within the required deadlines.
3. Evaluate the implementation of policies and programs, including undertaking appropriate data and outcome analysis.
4. Establish and maintain effective relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders including provision of support services to a range of stakeholders and users of the Family Safety Framework and Family Safety Portal. Facilitate consultation and communication with clients and non-government agencies to obtain information regarding the state programs and policy initiatives
5. Maintain professionalism and a commitment to respectful interactions with colleagues and stakeholders.
6. Contribute to whole of office business through participating in planning processes.

**Special Conditions**

National Police Check required.

**Role Status**: Term up to 27/06/2025

**Salary Range**: $85,790-$95,413 (ASO5)

**Location**: Adelaide
