**The Opportunity**

The Road Safety Policy and Reform Directorate is seeking an experienced and dedicated Principal Policy Officer who will thrive in a positive, collaborative and flexible work environment.
The core purpose of the Road Safety Policy and Reform Directorate is to provide policy development and delivery expertise and advice across the Transport Policy and Regulation Division. The key areas of focus for the Directorate are road safety, motor vehicle registration and driver licensing, heavy vehicles and transport innovation.
In an organisation that celebrates diversity and with collaboration at its core, the Principal Policy Officer will have the ability to lead critical initiatives, engage and influence a range of stakeholders in a variety of interesting and meaningful projects which have tangible outcomes that benefit South Australia and its community.
Reporting to the Section Manager, Road Safety Policy, the role will involve undertaking research and analysis on complex and sensitive issues and requires a high level of verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to change to effectively collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders, to support the delivery and achievement National and State objectives.
**Qualifications/Experience**
Appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent and relevant professional experience is desirable.
**Special Conditions**
- A National Police Check (NPC) which must be renewed every three years.
- A Department for Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (WWCC) which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
**Tenure of Vacancy**
Temporary appointment up to 12 months.
**Remuneration**
ASO7 - $108,109 to $116,864 pa + superannuation.
