Join the Road Safety, Policy and Reform Directorate at the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, where your work will directly contribute to enhancing road safety, regulatory practices, and transportation services across South Australia.

**The Opportunity**
As a Policy Officer in the road safety team, you’ll play an essential role in developing and implementing vital legislation, standards, and policies to improve road safety outcomes for the people of South Australia.

In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of regulatory and economic reform agendas, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver safety benefits for customers and the community.

**About You**

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

- Ability to manage programs and projects efficiently, meeting deadlines and using resources effectively.
- Strong capability to assess complex information, conduct research, and provide analysis to support policy decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written skills for clear interactions with stakeholders and for creating reports and presentations.
- Experience in building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, addressing their concerns effectively.
- Understanding customer needs and a commitment to providing high-quality service while following regulations and standards.

**Special Conditions**
- A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
- A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, which must be renewed every five years before expiry.
- Some out of hours and weekend work may be required.
- Some intra / interstate travel may be required.

**Education qualifications/licences**
Appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent. Relevant professional experience is desirable.
