Collections Specialist

The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing and collecting overdue accounts from customers while maintaining positive customer relationships, using excellent communication skills with customers to ensure timely payment of overdue invoices.

This role will be 2-3 days a week onsite in our Sydney office.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Negotiating payment plans and arrangements with customers in order to facilitate the repayment of debts.
- Conducting research to locate customers who have moved or changed contact information.
- Analyzing customer payment patterns and history to determine the best course of action for collecting debts.
- Developing and implementing collection strategies and processes to improve collection performance.
- Preparing and sending notices to customers regarding overdue accounts.
- Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of all customer interactions and payment arrangements.
- Collaborating with other departments within the company, such as billing and sales to resolve customer issues and disputes.
- Lead on the development and implementation of collections policies and procedures to drive process improvement and best practice.
- Providing regular reports and updates to management on collections activities, collections target and any key collections risks.
- Create reports regular reports that identify overdue customers, likely cash collection for the month, receivables by customer, customer aging, customer payments history and customer risk accounts.
- Maintaining a professional and positive demeanor when communicating with customers

**Key requirements**
- At least 5 years of experience in collections
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Proactive personality with the ability to drive process improvement
- Ability to work independently to set up the collections process for Nuix
- Must be detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting an advantage not a must
