**About the Role**
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced researcher to join an MRFF-funded project focused on cardiovascular disease risk among Indigenous children and adolescents. You will have the opportunity to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through qualitative methodologies and work alongside a dynamic team dedicated to advancing Indigenous health equity. This role offers a chance to contribute to impactful research that drives meaningful change in the health outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the research program, ensuring timely achievement of milestones and deliverables, while designing and conducting qualitative studies on the drivers of premature cardiovascular disease in Indigenous children and adolescents.
- Managing relationships with internal and external project partners, engaging with collaborators through travel as needed, and supervising and mentoring Research Higher Degree and Honours students.
- Participating in Centre and School meetings, contributing to professional activities, and promoting University values by upholding diversity, inclusion, and high standards of ethics and integrity, while adhering to Occupational Health and Safety responsibilities.
**Who We Are Looking For**
You will also have:
- A PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g., public health, health promotion, or related fields).
- Demonstrated experience in conducting qualitative research and participatory research, including data collection and analysis.
- Proven ability to write publications as a first-author based on research findings and conduct research activities effectively to build your national research profile.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
