Principal Finance Officer

**The Principal Finance Officer key responsibilities are**:
- Oversee all aspects of financial operational functions in relation to accounts payable, accounts receivable, assets, general ledger reconciliation, purchasing and contracts management for ICT related activities.
- Co-ordinate and lead the monthly and end of financial year accruals process for Information Services (IS) units.
- Provide monthly, quarterly and end of financial year reporting analysis and variance reporting for all IS business units under Deputy Director-General/Chief Information Officer (DDG/CIO) and on behalf of the whole of department (WOD) in terms of revenue, expenditure, FTEs and activity highlighting relevant variances to assist in decision making by senior management within a complex ICT environment.
- Proactively take lead in providing timely financial accounting advice and reporting requirement as required.
- Assist the manager in the annual budget build process for both operating and capital for Information Services and liaise with key stakeholders for ongoing review of budget allocation and preparation of budget adjustments.
- Co-ordinate and contribute to and prepare complex reports, submissions, briefing notes and correspondence on a range of financial management and budgeting issues.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders that are based on open communications.
- Maintain complex excel based models and analyse large datasets to deliver timely and accurate reconciliations with meaningful and insightful variance commentary.
- Provide expertise in analysis and reporting activities that will support business improvements and efficiencies in the tools and processes used in Information Services.
