**About the Role**

The role of the Portfolio Governance Specialist will develop the required frameworks, resources, and processes to optimise delivery of the Department’s IT roadmap in alignment with Department of Transport and Whole of Victorian Government (WoVG) requirements and drive effective governance to ensure that there is clarity about what decisions are made, where and by whom, and what criteria are used in reaching these decisions.

**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**
- **Governance **- establish, develop, and maintain (and ensure compliance with) a full range of frameworks, processes, templates, and reports to support effective governance and management of the DTP IT portfolio. Ensure the governance structures, processes escalation routes, tolerance/control limits and role descriptions are clearly defined and included in the relevant frameworks and processes.
- **Effective Reporting** - research and analysis activities to support the development of reports and graphical presentations for DTP leadership, and external government departments and agencies, to inform strategic decision making and provide insights in support of business led project governance of the DTP IT portfolio.
- **Stakeholder Engagement** - Ensure that all stakeholders have a clear and shared understanding of the governance processes and structures. Negotiate with and influence IT and business managers, together with project and program delivery teams, to facilitate sound project governance including identification and reporting of competing priorities and dependencies; together with project, program and DTP IT portfolio impacts and benefit outcomes.

**Qualifications and Experience**

**Mandatory**
- Extensive relevant experience in a high value portfolio office in a large complex corporate or government environment

**Desirable**
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in information management, technology, business, commerce or similar
- Extensive relevant portfolio governance experience
