**Position Information**:
Schofields Public School is in the Northwest growth area of Sydney. The school has grown rapidly over the past six years, with current enrolment of 1070 students. 76% of students have a language background other than English and 2% of students have an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background. The school has 50 classes including five inclusive support classes. The school enjoys strong support from parents who value academic excellence, high standards and a love of learning.

A major upgrade is underway at the school including 24 classrooms, staff rooms and amenities. A collaborative team-teaching approach is central to building collective teacher efficacy and embedding effective teaching practice in each classroom.

School Excellence drives the strategic directions of the school with a future focus of High Potential and Gifted Education, data driven collaborative practice and differentiated instruction.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,

1. An engaging leader who leverages positive partnerships and transparent communication with all stakeholder groups, underpinned by a deep understanding of the Department’s wellbeing and inclusion programs.

2. Proven expertise in working collaboratively with staff and community, as well as colleagues in other schools, to support innovative curriculum reform and student-centred pedagogical practice aligned to the NSW Plan for Public Education.

3. Highly developed distributive leadership skills with the ability to lead and monitor the successful implementation of the School Excellence Plan in a large school, in an evidence-informed manner, with a focus on building staff capacity and utilising existing expertise to improve student outcomes.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
