The Community of Support Team Front of House is part of a collaborative community support team at Flagstaff and The Open Door that provides accommodation and community support to men experiencing homelessness who have high complex needs.
The Community Support Team operates over a 24-hour roster, seven days a week and welcomes clients into the service by demonstrating genuine acceptance, compassion and care.

The Front of House Worker will provide a welcoming, supportive, responsive and inclusive environment for people experiencing homelessness and residing at The Open Door.

- Establishing a culture of service delivery that is Client Centred, Strengths Based and Trauma Informed.
The Front of House Worker reports to the Team Leader, Community of Support (The Open Door) providing support to the Community of Support Team and ensures the mission and values of The Salvation Army are reflected throughout.
This is a permanent full time position based in North Melbourne.

What we’re looking for
- Qualification in Social Work/Community Welfare (or equivalent) & demonstrated equivalent relevant experience, knowledge and skills.
- Advanced written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in working in the field of homelessness.
- To solve problems quickly and creatively, to be resourceful and able to cope with stressful situations.
- Demonstrate a willingness to engage in professional development through supervision and training
- A current VIC Drivers Licence
- Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
- Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
