Melbourne, Australia Allcare Community Support Full time

Allcare Community Support Victoria specialises in supporting young people and young adults who have been diagnosed with a disability, who are NDIS eligible, and who are in need of support. There are two client streams, 7 years to 25 years old and 25 plus.

Allcare is currently expanding its team and is seeking support workers who have experienced working with children and young adults in the main.

The area which is a current focus is Melton, but opportunities in other suburbs of Melbourne also arise.

The objective of this role would be to assist the participant in achieving positive outcomes from a strengths-based perspective.

This position will support participants on a continuing one to one basis. Some areas of involvement include but are not limited to;
- Helping young people develop their day-to-day skills and achieving their goals
- Acting as a mentor and being involved in social and recreational activities.
- Maintaining an appropriate relationship with clients so that the client develops trust and feels safe and supported
- Providing transportation and companionship when necessary, so that the client can engage in community activities

Depending on the participant, personal care and light daily chores may be required

Evidence of 1 - 3 years previous experience working within social work, youth/community work. Necessary clearances/documents relating to the role will be required.

Excellent verbal and written skills are required not only for ensuring clear communication with clients but also maintaining accurate case notes and records in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.

Time Commitment would depend on client requirements but availability on certain week days and a weekend day would be desirable.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $41.00 - $58.00 per hour
