**About the Roles**

Melba Support Services are actively recruiting for Disability Support Workers and House Supervisor roles to join our team across:

- Newport
- Altona North
- Niddrie
- Box Hill North
- Carlton

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated people to empower individuals with disabilities by providing person-led, active support. In this role, you will engage with individuals to understand their unique needs and preferences, ensuring their safety and upholding their human rights.

**Responsibilities**
- Disability Support Worker:_
- Implement support plans based on supported person's needs, preferences and interests
- Help with all aspects of daily living from getting up in the morning to going to bed at night
- Aid people to get to their chosen activities like social events, work and appointments
- Promote personal choice and control for the person
- Assist with personal care & hygiene and household duties like cleaning, cooking, and washing
- Administer medication
- Outcomes Lead (House Supervisor):_
- Supervise the operations of the Supported Independent Living service with regular reporting to the Outcomes Manager
- Manage all aspects of team performance including rosters, performance management, records management, quality, and compliance
- Lead and plan support for people with disabilities within their home and community, based on the goals of individual support plans
- Support initiatives that allow for individual choice, control and independence within their shared home environment
- Advocate within the broader community for inclusion, participation, and respect for rights for supported people
- Convey information to people we support and their families to help meet daily needs and plan support for future requirements
- Administer medication treatments, therapies or seek assistance according to protocols

**Qualifications and Experience**
- A passion for enabling and working with people
- Desire for meaningful work and comfortable providing people with daily living support
- Willingness to learn new skills, undertake ongoing training
- Willingness to work as part of a team Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent qualification (advantageous)

**You will also bring with you or be willing to obtain**
- NDIS Worker screening Check
- Working with Children Check
- Unrestricted Australian Driver’s License
- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status, including booster (3 doses required)
- Current First Aid Certificate with CPR
