We support people to achieve the goals they choose and live the life that they want, the person comes first Melba won the 2023 National Disability Award for Excellence in Service Quality. **About the Roles** Melba Support Services are actively recruiting for Disability Support Workers and House Supervisor roles to join our team across: - Newport - Altona North - Niddrie - Box Hill North - Carlton We are seeking compassionate and dedicated people to empower individuals with disabilities by providing person-led, active support. In this role, you will engage with individuals to understand their unique needs and preferences, ensuring their safety and upholding their human rights. **Responsibilities** - Disability Support Worker:_ - Implement support plans based on supported person's needs, preferences and interests - Help with all aspects of daily living from getting up in the morning to going to bed at night - Aid people to get to their chosen activities like social events, work and appointments - Promote personal choice and control for the person - Assist with personal care & hygiene and household duties like cleaning, cooking, and washing - Administer medication - Outcomes Lead (House Supervisor):_ - Supervise the operations of the Supported Independent Living service with regular reporting to the Outcomes Manager - Manage all aspects of team performance including rosters, performance management, records management, quality, and compliance - Lead and plan support for people with disabilities within their home and community, based on the goals of individual support plans - Support initiatives that allow for individual choice, control and independence within their shared home environment - Advocate within the broader community for inclusion, participation, and respect for rights for supported people - Convey information to people we support and their families to help meet daily needs and plan support for future requirements - Administer medication treatments, therapies or seek assistance according to protocols **Qualifications and Experience** - A passion for enabling and working with people - Desire for meaningful work and comfortable providing people with daily living support - Willingness to learn new skills, undertake ongoing training - Willingness to work as part of a team Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent qualification (advantageous) **You will also bring with you or be willing to obtain** - NDIS Worker screening Check - Working with Children Check - Unrestricted Australian Driver’s License - Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status, including booster (3 doses required) - Current First Aid Certificate with CPR - _We can support you through the process of obtaining these if you don’t already have them._ **Why Join Us?** - We are a human-rights, values-based, not-for-profit community organisation committed to providing services that support individuals with disability to lead everyday lives of their choice, if this resonates with you, come join us - Join a supportive and collaborative culture where your contributions make a real impact.
