**The Opportunity**

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join the Environmental Planning team. The position reports to the Environmental Planning Manager.

The Environmental Coordinator is responsible for:

- Developing and delivering high quality and timely environmental assessment documentation and approvals.
- Developing and implementing environmental practices and procedures to deliver best practice in the management of Transgrid’s environmental planning obligations.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, communities, and government entities, to deliver timely and efficient advice and information.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Environmental planning approvals_
- Scope and develop environmental assessments
- Ensure all aspects of environmental planning assessments are documented and delivered in an efficient, timely, and complete manner
- Ensure environmental assessments and statutory approvals are legally compliant (including appropriate consultation with stakeholders).
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to achieve appropriate management strategies and conditions of approval.
- Ensure environmental risk is minimised during scoping, approvals and project delivery
- Foster and maintain professional relationships with appropriate external agencies and internal and external stakeholders.
- Ancillary project permits and approvals_
- Identify and obtain ancillary environmental approvals and permits as appropriate for all projects
- Management of service performance_
- Review performance of external service providers for environmental assessment services
- Policies, procedures and standards_
- Ensure compliance with the legislative requirements and business needs
- Contribute to the development of environmental planning and approval processes, procedures, and templates which fulfil business and legal requirements

**Skills & Experience**

What we expect from you:

- Tertiary qualification at degree level in an environmental planning/ management related discipline
- Good understanding and demonstrated experience in the use of geographic information systems related to environmental planning and management
- Knowledge of environmental impact assessments in NSW in accordance with Part 5 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979
- High level of written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Ability to self-manage, work under pressure and work in a team environment
- A current driver’s licence
