A key opportunity exists for a dedicated leader to coordinate best practice, efficiency and cost-effective operations at landfills and recycling facilities.
The role involves overseeing daily landfill and recycling activities, including staff management, contractor coordination, and collaboration with engineers for future site development.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing leachate extraction and treatment plants at operational and closed landfill sites, reviewing reporting programs and site surveys, developing management systems, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
The position also requires implementing innovative measures to improve operations, supervising capital works, and preparing quotations and contracts as required.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity that offers the chance to make a positive impact on the community and contribute to professional growth through continuous learning and development opportunities.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive job-related experience.
- Current Class C Drivers Licence.
- Demonstrated environmental management skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of plant operations, construction of landfills, and recycling of engineering waste.
- Experience in contract preparation and project supervision.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to waste management, environment, local government, and work health and safety.
- Well-developed supervisory and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated experience in budget preparation and management.
