Exciting things are happening at Xpress Freight Management and we’re looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our Sydney depot.

**About the Role**

You will be responsible for the effective administration of the Accounts Payable function, ensuring that invoices are processed within required timeframes and identifying and developing efficiencies in the current account's payables process. You will operate in a complex, high-volume business, with multiple stakeholders and you will be required to maintain a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of accounting practices and requirements.

**Key duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Accurate and timely processing of accounts payable records on a daily basis, once approval for payment has been provided.
- Electronic distribution of accounts payable invoices received on a daily basis and follow-up when not returned in a timely fashion.
- Accurately process all accounts payable in accordance with Goods and Services Tax (GST) legislation.
- Some accounts receivable work as required.
- Open and maintain customer accounts.
- Other duties as per the direction of the Chief Financial Officer/General Manager.

**Key qualifications and Experience**:

- Solid background in Accounts Payable, preferably medium/large freight organisation.
- Strong attention to detail and organisation skills.
- Knowledge of Accounting programs and systems (Xero).
- Ability to work in a changing and evolving business and exercise judgement to changing needs and situations.
- Consistently look for process improvement and efficiencies.
- Ability to interact with a wide range of people across all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment with outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships to achieve successful outcomes.
- Strong attention to detail.

- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines.
