**Location**: Brisbane, QLD

**About the role**:
We are seeking motivated and collaborative early career heritage professional, to join our growing Queensland Cultural Heritage Team. This role will involve working within a team-based delivery model undertaking a wide range of cultural heritage projects, including Aboriginal and historical heritage, within archaeological, built and landscape heritage contexts. Projects that you will work on will primarily be located throughout Queensland with potential to work alongside our NSW and Victorian teams on major projects in many other parts of Australia.

**About you**:
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person who has:

- A degree in Cultural Heritage Management, Anthropology, Archaeology or other degree Umwelt considers relevant to the role
- Previous relevant cultural heritage industry experience (1-3+ years), preferably in a consulting context, though government experience will be considered
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Queensland and Commonwealth heritage legislation, associated regulations and guidelines, especially the _Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2003 (QLD) and Queensland Heritage Act 1992 (QLD)_
- Demonstrated experience in:

- Cultural heritage management projects
- Participation in the delivery cultural heritage field surveys and collating and analysing field survey results
- Artefact identification and recording, especially stone artefacts
- Preparation and completion of reports and proposals
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other professional, community members and stakeholders as part of a collaborative working environment to delivery high quality results
- It is desirable, though not essential, that you have experience in archaeological test excavation, archaeological monitoring, salvage excavation, and artefact analysis
- Commitment to workplace health and safety requirements
- Good verbal and written communication skills with people from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
- The ability to be a creative and innovative thinker
- Curiosity, resilience, and empathy
- An ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders
- A team player who is organised, shows initiative, and is motivated with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Current Australian Drivers licence
