**The company**

Our client is one of Australia’s leading diversified energy infrastructure businesses across gas and renewable assets. As an organisation, they are located in all mainland Australian capital cities, as well as regional centres and towns scattered across the thousands of kilometres of infrastructure that they manage and operate.

**The role**

Reporting to the Heritage Lead, the Heritage Specialist will facilitate effective heritage management within the Infrastructure Development business - specifically on the Moomba Sydney Pipeline (MSP).

Key responsibilities:

- Facilitate assessment of heritage data for due diligence purposes and communicate outcomes to internal stakeholders.
- Provide advice and support to key internal stakeholders regarding heritage requirements, risks, and management measures.
- Engage with First Nations Peoples regarding APA’s activities and seek to establish enduring relationships.
- Prepare and implement Cultural Heritage Management Plans (or equivalent) in consultation with all stakeholders.
- Design, coordinate and oversee delivery of heritage surveys to update Moomba Sydney Pipeline (MSP) heritage records. This will include the engagement of specialist consultants and overseeing their performance.
- Engage with regulators to share heritage related information.
- Prepare heritage data and submit for upload to the Geographic Information System (GIS).
- Provide heritage related training and coaching to MSP personnel.
- Drive a culture where APA’s heritage responsibilities (including collaboration with First Nations Peoples) are front of mind.
- Support the Heritage Lead with other key initiatives and responsibilities as required.

**About you**

You will bring strong influencing skills to the role with the ability to lead change. You will be a team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced organisation.

Additionally, you will have:

- Tertiary qualifications to degree level in archaeology or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in archaeology or equivalent.
- Sound knowledge of heritage law and regulatory frameworks in NSW South Australia, and Queensland
- Aptitude for risk management, process and procedural improvement and business efficiency
- Effective communication skills - verbal and written
- Highly developed system skills with extensive experience in databases and GIS
