**LANGUAGE CURRICULUM & ASSESSMENT COORDINATOR - JOB DESCRIPTION [FEB 2025]**

**(Full-time 12-month fixed-term contract; local or remote)**

ILSC Programs include General English, English for Academic Purposes, IELTS Preparation, Cambridge Preparation, and a variety of engaging Elective classes.

The **Language Curriculum & Assessment Coordinator**plays a crucial role in the ILSC Global Language Curriculum Team, reporting to the Global Language Curriculum Director and working closely with and being guided by the Senior Language Learning Designer to enhance ILSC’s academic curriculum and assessment suite. The role actively assists with the development and maintenance of our broad curriculum and assessment products and services, all geared towards contributing to the academic success of our students by supporting ILSC teachers in their implementation of curriculum and assessment and their use of teaching and assessment tools and resources. The Language Curriculum & Assessment Coordinator is a key role within the Global Language Curriculum team and communicates successfully with Academic Managers globally, supporting curriculum and assessment needs and student goals and learning outcomes by ensuring authentic and inclusive curriculum development; validity, reliability and fairness of assessment processes; and promotion of academic integrity at all times. The Language Curriculum & Assessment Coordinator works collaboratively and constructively within the teaching and broader teams, completing all administrative and reporting tasks as required, and adhering to relevant ILSC Policies and Procedures.

The Language Curriculum & Assessment Coordinator will represent ILSC’s core values internally and externally, upholding a collaborative and supportive staffroom ethos, and participating actively in sector Communities of Practice and Special Interest Groups.

**The Language Curriculum & Assessment Coordinator duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following tasks:

- Working collaboratively with the Global Language Curriculum Team, Academic Managers and Teachers on the constructive alignment of learning outcomes, curriculum, and assessment
- Providing input on curriculum and assessment projects within the Global Language Curriculum Team
- Advising on quality assessment practices and current trends and innovations
- Developing teacher reference resources and assessment training materials in various formats
- Advising and guiding Academic Managers on assessment tools and assessment implementation
- Creating guidelines for teachers on appropriate curriculum and assessment task adaptation
- Tracking and analysing assessment data and consulting with Academic Managers on student progression
- Diagnosing and advising on current assessment gaps and requirements/improvements
- Working alongside Academic Managers to ensure assessment standardisation best practices are implemented in the classroom
- Running curriculum & assessment PD sessions, training, and moderation as required
- Actively participating in and contributing to industry curriculum & assessment webinars and SIGs

**Key Selection Criteria**

**_ Education and Experience_**
- Recognised Bachelor degree (or equivalent)
- Relevant and recognised TESOL qualification
- Excellent understanding of TESOL methodology, programs, and assessment practices
- Experience with formative and summative assessment design, implementation and review
- Experience with online learning management systems and multimodal delivery
- Experience working with AI tools
- Demonstrated focus on continuous professional development
