**About the team
Based in our Woolloomooloo office reporting to the Director Marketing & Fundraising, this role manages the marketing and communications function and is responsible for positioning, promoting and protecting Cancer Council NSW's brand and reputation. The role sits in the Marketing & Fundraising division, has three direct reports, and oversees a team.
**About the role**
This role is responsible for ensuring that the Cancer Council brand is engaging, inspiring, and compels people to take action. Key responsibilities include developing an organisational brand, marketing and communications strategy, leading on inspiring marketing and communications campaigns that support our mission and fundraising work, liaising with key stakeholders across the Cancer Council Federation to achieve shared goals, working with teams across the organisation to develop high quality content, managing our community and high profile ambassador work, and leading the Marketing & Communications team.
**Key responsibilities of the role**:
- Develop an annual brand, marketing and communications strategy that supports our organisational objectives
- Represent NSW within the Cancer Council Federation to build and implement a national brand strategy and translate national brand strategy into state brand communication plans to build an engaged and connected audience
- Analyse and evaluate the performance of marketing and communications campaigns and embed a team culture of data driven optimisation
- Effectively manage any issues to minimise the damage to our brand and reputation, and take a leading role in embedding risk management in the organisation
- Manage the organisational relationship with CCNSW media partners to set and manage annual KPIs and optimise agency performance
**About you**
- At least 8 years' experience in a strategic brand, marketing or communications role, extensive relevant experience
- Experience in developing and implementing integrated marketing and communications strategy and campaigns
- Proven stakeholder relationship/management skills - personable, confident and ability to be flexible
- Ability to work to tight deadlines within a team environment with strong attention to details
- Good problem solving skills, quick thinking and hard working
- Highly organised, able to function well under pressure and work on multiple projects autonomously
- Ability to respond to media requests outside of normal business hours, on a rostered basis
- People management experience
